Finally, for our Christmas dessert, Patrick specifically requested caramel. I have a recipe for simple and delicious caramel sauce, so we whipped up a batch and poured it over sliced bananas for dessert. A perfect end to a perfect meal.
Here’s what you will need:
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup half and half
1/2 stick butter (4 tablespoons)
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Here’s what you do:
2. Add the vanilla, and cook about another 3-5 minutes until the mixture is slightly thicker.
3. Refrigerate the mixture to allow it to firm up a bit more until you are ready to serve. (I think this is best served warm.)
